The Best Time of the Year!!

goal of yr

This title to my blog is so true: “The Best Time of the Year!!” Think about it. Christmas is what life is about. Take a look around you as you wait in that long toy check out line, or waiting to  order a Hickory-baked ham for Christmas dinner.  Check out your mailbox. I do believe we get up to 50 advertising pamphlets a week. From pizza discounts, to having your furnace checked for a discount price before the holidays.  It is crazy; but we like the lower costs. When you are out at night, you see Christmas lights aglow every where you travel. It is an exciting time of year. Everyone shows extra care and kindness during Christmas and the New Year. All of the HallMark movies display Christmas love and miracles. Everyone’s hearts are full of spreading the goodness of our beings.

The reason: God. He showed love when He sent His only begotten Son, to be born of a virgin, to grow up, die on a cross, rise again the third day, and  return to earth someday. Then He will take His  children to live with Him for eternity.

I was thinking the other day, when talking with my Dr., that God didn’t send His Son to earth for just a few people. These people believed and received God’s way through Christ. But God’s salvation plan is for absolutely everyone that have been born, or will be born on this earth.

John 3:16 says it so plainly:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

So, God who is the only true God, the one who runs the universe, the one who made thousands of galaxies, who put the stars in their place and has named them all, chose to speak into existence the world. He speaks breath into human beings and has us live our lives in this perfectly balanced earth, to eat  the products of the earth, and to keep us from flying into space, provided gravity. This same almighty, amazing, loving, sinless, true, ultimate, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient. holy, God showed us love and the way to heaven by sending Christ, in the form of a baby, to come and bring us salvation. Yes, that is the beginning of the salvation plan.  He lived a sinless life, grew up in a human body; then died on the cross, for our sins.  He is the God man, He had to rise from the dead; and He did. Over 500 hundred people saw Him after His resurrection and He told them He will return some day, not as a babe, but as Christ our Lord to take His children to live with Him for all eternity.

Oh, some think  it is a far fetched story. It is truth and faith. If you are a part of Christmas, you exchange gifts, have a beautiful Christmas tree and lights lit up in your neighborhood; you must believe in some of the truth of Christmas.

It boggles my mind to think that we can strive and achieve great jobs, move up the corporate ladder and think we are the sole being of our own success and achievement. We want to live and have everything beyond what anyone else can accomplish. Only one day to face the fact, that nothing will go with us when we face death. We want our families to be near us not just for earthly joys, but eternal life in heaven because we realize that family is the dearest people in our lives.

Jesus was born in a stinky, dirty, cobwebbed barn. He wasn’t born in a beautiful, warm decorated palace. He came for us. The lowly, sinful, dirty thinking, human beings like you and me. He came for the poor. We are all born the same way, sinners. Neither CEO or Queen or King, are any different.

The foolishness of this world, and Satan himself, will trick people to believe they don’t need Christ. Really sad, thinking that man/woman strive to live without God. Man can not outlive  or survive against our all sufficient, all knowing Creator. God gave us a free will. He didn’t make us to be robots. He lets us make the choice of believing in His salvation plan.

In growing up my parents had my siblings and me, believing in Santa Claus. I thought it was so great that there was such a person who would give us what we wanted for Christmas. We loved Christmas. Our parents didn’t teach us about the true Christmas meaning. They did not accept or believe Christ for salvation. However, our parents knew there was a God. They let us go to Sunday school and learn what God did for us. Our parents didn’t take us to church, but they allowed some church people to pick us up. My parents received Christ when I was in Junior High. Our parents taught us to love and serve Christ.

Yes, it’s Christmas and soon the new year. Wow. Time slips by so quickly. As we listen to the Christmas songs, light candles, drink some eggnog, and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace; please take some time and trust Christ as your Savior.

Pray this prayer from the depth of your heart:

Jesus, I believe that you came to earth as a babe in the manager, born of a virgin, grew up, and died on the cross in my place for my sin. I ask you to forgive me of all my sin and save my soul. Please give me a home in heaven and become the Lord of my life. Help me to live for you. In Jesus name, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, would you just send me an email: josie@its4umom.com or from my website: www.its4umom.com Please attend a Bible believing church, and allow Christ to help you grow as a Christian. Life is a challenge to all of us, but reading the Bible daily and praying daily, will help you through life. You are not on your own anymore. Christ walks with you and you are born into God’s family.

I would love to hear from you. I just want to pray daily for you. Now, we can all say,

“CHRISTmas is the best time of the year.”
