In today’s world it is very important that we teach our children about God. He is the true and only God. He created everything and He is everywhere. One little boy had it right and was taught by his parents, and his Sunday School teacher all about God. When questioned about God’s existence.. well this is what happened:
“He was just a little boy, on a week’s first day. Wandering home from Sunday School, and dawdling on the way.
He scuffed his shoes into the grass; he even found a caterpillar. He found a fluffy milkweed pod, and blew out all the “filler.”
A bird’s nest in a tree overhead so wisely placed up so high. Was just another wonder, that caught his eager eye.
A neighbor watched his zig zag course, and hailed him from the lawn; Asked him where he’d been that day and what was going on.
“I’ve been to Bible School.” He said and turned a piece of sod. He picked up a wiggly worm replying, “I’ve learned a lot about God.”
“That’s a very fine way,” the neighbor said, “for a boy to spend his time. If you’ll tell me where God is, I’ll give you a brand new dime.”
Quick as a flash the answer came! Nor were his accents faint. “I’ll give you a dollar, Mister, if you can tell me where God ain’t.”
John 1:1-3 ” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
Parents, does your child know about God? That is our number one responsibility! It is exciting to see children’s countenances light up when they learn about our God. We need the faith of a child, to stand firm in our beliefs.
Matthew 10:13-16 “And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.”
